Hey, it’s me, the developer of Party Madness.
And yes, I mean this Party Madness, not the one on Steam by another developer.

After a long stretch of no updates and a lot of time spent working on other projects, I’ve come to terms with something I probably should have addressed earlier: I’m no longer able to maintain this game.

Party Madness was never meant to become a big long-term live service. It started as a learning project, a way for me to explore online multiplayer development, networked gameplay, player connections, and all the weird and interesting challenges that come with making multiplayer games in Unreal Engine 5. From the beginning, it was more of an experiment and a workshop project than a forever game.

In fact, it was originally built as part of my Game Design Diploma, and once that term ended, I moved on to new work and started applying what I had learned to other projects, including Divineme.

And honestly? That’s exactly what Party Madness helped me do. It taught me a lot. It helped me grow. It did what it was supposed to do.

But because of that, it has also reached the point where it makes sense to let it go.

I’m not even fully sure what parts of the game are still functioning right now. I haven’t actively maintained or updated it since I wrapped up the project, and keeping its online services around indefinitely no longer makes sense.

So, starting today, Party Madness online services will no longer be considered active or supported.

Over the coming weeks, the remaining download builds will also begin to disappear from the platforms where they are still available.

Part of this decision is practical, and part of it is simply clarity. I also want to reduce the overlap and confusion with the much bigger and far more polished game with the same name by Payoff Games.

If you want the official details on how data and remaining services are handled during this shutdown period, you can read:

  • Party Madness Privacy Policy
  • Party Madness Online Services Sunset Notice

The short version is this:
Party Madness is being sunset, and all remaining online functionality is expected to fully cease by the end of the month (March 31, 2026).

That said, I don’t see this as the end of the idea.

I still think there’s something fun and chaotic at the core of Party Madness, and maybe one day I’ll come back to that energy and build something new from it, something stronger, cleaner, more polished, and backed by everything I’ve learned since then.

Maybe even something worthy of Steam.

So no, this is not me saying goodbye to making online games.
This is just me saying goodbye to this version of one.

Thanks to anyone who played it, tested it, supported it, or even just gave it a look.

Your trustworthy developer is finally saying bye to his game.
